Got a question to ask you today that I asked on my social media feeds last week.
And I’m interested in hearing your answer so I can compile a bit of a list and report back to you the answers.
What’s the best workout/fitness tip that you’ve ever received?
I’d love to hear yours. Just hit reply and let me know.
Mine? The best thing that I’ve learned over the last 19 years in the fitness industry (yep I started working in a hotel gym around this time back in 2000) is that you don’t have to workout for an hour or more to get an effective workout.
Even 5 mins can be plenty providing you’re doing the right thing.
Which is great news for us busy parents!
One of the other answers that I got was that you can’t out-train a bad diet.
This is 100% spot on too.
I’ve also found this out the hard way.
20 years ago I spent my first working holiday away from home – 3 months working in a summer camp in Alabama.
It was awesome.
And I enjoyed myself a little too much and ended up putting on 10kg in just that 3 months!
Yep too much of the American portion sizes, free access to the chocolates and ice-creams in the camp store and too much beer.
And for the most part I was working out twice a day for 5-6 days a week.
Needless to say that 10kg wasn’t muscle…
So yes, you can’t out-train a bad diet and even at 21 I found that out – when previously I could eat anything I wanted and still not put on weight.
So like I said, let me know yours to add to the list.
I’m keen to know.
PS – did you see my note yesterday about the corporate team fitness package? Is this something you’d be interested in getting started at your work place?
Let’s chat if you are keen or I’d appreciate you putting me in touch with the person who is.
