The way I see things, there’s two surefire ways that tell you you’re getting old.

Well three if you count your body feeling like it’s twice it’s actual age,

all because I didn’t look after it properly when I was playing footy and actually give my injuries enough time to heal before playing again.

But back to the two reasons you know you’re getting old:

1) you find yourself listening to AM radio talkback.

Partly cause you think the musics crap on most stations but also cause you actually start to enjoy the content…

That’s sign one.

2) you just hear noise when other personal trainers get out their bloody portable speakers and play some doof doof crap for their clients when training in the great outdoors.

Which reverts to you saying “back in my day we had decent music”

Signal number two.

How many do you cross off?

Or maybe I’m just aging too quickly…

Anyways, the reason for this is I came across an article yesterday in Time magazine that was about workouts that reverse aging.

That got your interest?

Not that I’m saying you’re old and all!

But seriously, who doesn’t want to feel younger?

The study by the Mayo Clinic found that HIIT workouts (that’s high intensity interval training) have been proven to reverse signs of aging at the cellular level.

That on top of the usual benefits from these types of sessions

– burning more body fat (who doesn’t want that?)

– boosting your metabolism so you can do more of the above

– creating more muscle tone, once again so you can do more of the above!

Another cool, but less sexy benefit, is that it reduces your risk of type 2 diabetes too it found

(you know the type you get when you get older and less active)

The great thing is, this type of exercise is exactly what we do in a DPM session.

And when it says high intensity, don’t get me wrong,

you’re not training until you vomit like in some military style workout.

You’re training at a level that’s high intensity for YOU.

Not the next person.

For someone who hasn’t done a lot lately, that level of intensity is of course a lot different to someone who’s been in the DPM system for a long time.

Side note, I just began handing out the gifts to the DPMers who’ve been around for 10 years.

Can you believe that?!

Pretty awesome to see someone stay with us for that long.

There were 7 DPMers too which just proves that when people join us, they like to stick around.

But it just goes to show that I know what I’m talking about.

As the research backs up.

And if you want to do anything about losing those 5-10kg of stubborn kilos that you can’t seem to shift,

to start enjoying some of these benefits for yourself,

this is your last week to take advantage of my personal training options before I take them off the table.
