Remember that movie Big with Tom Hanks?

You know the one from back in the 80’s where all he wanted to be was an adult and that magic game at the fairground gave him that wish when he woke the next day?

Well while that idea sounded great as a kid, not so much anymore hey?

Find me someone who wants to age quicker these days though and I bet the only one you’ll find will be the 17 year old kid standing outside the pub on a Friday night while their mates are already inside.

I’d be happy for the reverse one where I could go back to being a toddler just playing around all day.

And the biggest issue you have is chucking a tantrum cause you don’t want to do something.

Anyways, keeping with that whole ageing quickly thing,  I came across an article that featured the 3 worst exercises that cause ageing.

Funny how things change though, cause it wasn’t that long ago in the scheme of things that these were listed as the best ways to reduce it and ‘stay young’.

And seeing as science has proven that you can be biologically younger than you chronologically are (two big words in a row for me right!)

I’d stay away from these if you want your friends to comment how young you look.

Without having to spend a bomb on the plastic surgery.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that (to steal a Seinfeld-ism) if that’s your go.

So lets get to that list – avoid these:

1) Cardio

This one’s interesting cause most people normally think of this as something positive for the body right?

“Doing long frequent cardio sessions will break down your muscles and increase the production of free radicals. These free radicals are nasty little things that damage the cells in your body and accelerate ageing.”

If you are a fan, don’t totally discount it, just don’t make it the only thing you do. Cause I know for a lot of people the mental clarity it brings them makes it worth it.

2) A Low Fat Diet

No surprise here cause I always mention going full fat everything.

But remember when it used to be a thing?

It’s hard to believe that “low-fat” is still a dietary recommendation because science has proven that fat is not the cause of weight gain or heart disease.

In fact, since the introduction of the fat-free diet, the world has gotten more fat and sick than it has ever been before.

3) Yoga

Surprised? Me too. Now yoga isn’t my cup of tea but I know plenty of people for who it is.

“Strictly physiologically speaking, yoga lacks the necessary components to stimulate your body to build lean muscle, burn fat and most importantly… trigger your youth-enhancing hormones to help slow aging.

Yoga can improve your flexibility and calm your mind, but it will NOT stimulate your “youth” hormones.”

When they put it like that they have a point.

BUT I still wouldn’t discount it totally.

As part of a balanced routine it would be a goer.

So there you go.

Lucky for you – if you’ve been putting into action what I always share here you’re already sweet and working on stumping everyone when they guess your age 10 years younger than you actually are!

So what’s the best thing?

Exactly what we do at DPM.

Short, interval based resistance sessions that get your heart rate up in minimal time.

Not only does it help shed the extra tummy flab and chunky thighs, but it’s also pretty damn good for taking a few years off your biological age.

Cool feeling that’d be right?

If you know someone who wants to benefit from just that, I appreciate you spreading the word about my VIP promotion.

Just get em along for a session to check it out (I’ll even shout them 2 weeks to check it all out properly), I’ll hook you up with some DPM training gear as a thank you.
