Driving into our early group yesterday morning I was listening to a podcast like I normally do.
This one was an NBA based one where the guest this time was a General Manager of one of the popular teams and he was interviewed at a conference that he organises each year about analytics in sports and other stuff like that.
Anyways, something he said really was interesting:
Mockery comes before understanding.
This was made in reference to the host saying he didn’t understand why a computerised game of chess that the GM was watching at the conference was interesting.
That was the response.
He then went on to explain why he found it interesting.
I like it.
Makes sense in my world, as I am sure it can for you.
I know in the past, before I actually tried it, I used to mock intermittent fasting saying there’s no way I’d try it, it can’t be good for you. blah, blah, blah.
But guess what?
When I finally got out of my own way and actually gave it a go,
I was surprised to find out how easy it actually was and that it did indeed actually work.
I still use it to this day.
I don’t recommend it for someone just starting out their fitness journey, but once you’ve crossed off the initial phase of the DPM healthy eating plan, I’m more than happy to enlighten you on the benefits.
The main one for me being convenience. I don’t have to get up any earlier than I already to do make sure I have time to prepare and eat breakfast.
That’s not the only thing I’ve sneered at when it first came across my path, only to find myself come around later.
How about you?
So, with that in mind, I’m looking for stories from back in your past.
Things you might have tried that seemed like a good idea at the time.
Something you might have even mocked, but decided to give it a go.
Only to come out with the understanding that it wasn’t a great idea.
Tell me your worst dieting story.
The winner will be drawn randomly and will win 3 months of unlimited training on the house.
To be honest, the uptake from this has been a little underwhelming, so your chances of winning are high.
With only a couple of entries (cause I don’t like to create false hype and pretend the response has been overwhelming when it hasn’t) you have a really good chance to score this.
Get your entry in now.
Your name will only be used in the facebook live broadcast of the winner.
When I share the stories here it’ll be anonymously.
You’ve got until midday Friday.
