As you may well be aware, today in America (well technically it’s still Thursday there) is Thanksgiving Day.

So happy thanksgiving to all my American friends.

It’s the one American tradition that I wish we did have here.

Or at least our own version of it.

But there’s no chance of that cause it can’t be monetised unlike everything else of theirs that comes here like Halloween.

So all we’re stuck with now is Black Friday sales everywhere.

Now, if you’re expecting a big Black Friday sale for DPM training or something else you’re out of luck.

I learned a few years ago, I’d even say a few years too late, that you shouldn’t discount your service.

For one, it cheapens your value of the product.

And two, it’s unfair to everyone else who is paying full price.

When I did use to offer discounts, the ones that only ever signed up when there was a discount were always harder work than those who signed up at full price.

You get what you pay for – on both sides.

So I prefer a smaller amount of clients who are enjoyable to work with rather than people constantly bargain hunting.

That’s my two cents on that anyways.

But back to the whole thanksgiving theme.

It’s a good time to look back and be thankful for what we have and who we have in my life.

For me, it’s my family of course.

There was a time 7-8 years ago that I didn’t even think that it would be possible to have a family one day.

So that makes me very thankful for what I have now.

Even if some days drive you to the drink…

And of course, as I’ve mentioned here a bit recently, I am thankful to the DPMers who continue to turn up – even after everything that got in the way of that this year.

So thank you to you.

If you celebrate thanksgiving I hope you enjoy your day with your family.

On the other hand, if you don’t, I am sure you can find something to be thankful for today anyways.
Cheers,
Daniel
