You’ll no doubt realise that I’m a fan of encouraging people to be doing some type of personal training.

Be that one-on-one or via a small group situation.

Now, I’d obviously prefer if you do that with me, but either way, you need to be doing something with someone.

Today I’m here to give you some simple reasons why personal training works.

This’ll help reinforce why you’re part of DPM, or if you have lapsed cause life got in the way, it’ll be a handy reminder for you to get back into gear now that the warmer weather is here and as I pointed out yesterday – Christmas (and the year end) is only 3 months away.

1) You have someone to be accountable to

This is perfect if you want to achieve a big goal – be that an event you’ve signed up to or whether you want to lose a few kilos or rehab an old injury or maybe just get stronger.

You have someone who will check in with you and ask you how you’re travelling with that goal

2) You just have to turn up

You don’t have to plan out what workout you need to do or worry about getting sick of the same training program all the time.

Your trainer takes care of that for you. They know the best way to get a result in the shortest time possible

All you have to do is get to the session.

3) Because you’ve got skin in the game 

We all know that no one ever acts on free advice.

That’s why I can give you literally everything I know here in this messages each day and not ‘hold anything back’ just for paying clients.

Because most people don’t do anything with the information.

No one likes to waste money either. And because you are investing your hard earned in your training each month, you are more likely to want to get something back from it and put the work in.

So you can get what you are paying for.

4) You get to work out alongside people who are just like you.

This one applies to if you’re training in a group.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t get to see my friends enough these days.

Cause family time takes up all my other time. And rightly so.

But when you are training with your friends, you get to kill two birds with one stone.

You get your catch ups. Plus you can meet other people just like you – especially important if you saw what I posted the other day about dementia and loneliness.

The social interaction is especially important. Especially if you work by yourself too.

So there you go, there’s just four reasons why personal training works.

There could be an endless list, but these are the main ones to help reinforce why you do what you do
