Here’s a random thought for you to ponder over,

and the more you think about it the more sense it might make.

But, take it for what it’s worth anyways, cause it’s my 2 cents.

How on earth is bread considered to be a ‘health’ food in most circles when cake is rightly considered to be a treat?

Granted, if you and I am pretty much preaching from the same hymn sheet on our nutrition views you might agree with me already,

but let’s think about the majority of society.

And most nutritionists who still seem to think that bread is awesome.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind a bit of bread here and there.

Especially when at a cafe getting some nice eggs benedict with bacon.

But let’s look at this from a weight loss perspective.

A random google search for how to make bread and how to make cake reveals this:

BREAD:

– 3 cups (450g) plain bread flour

– 1tbs dried yeast

– 2 tsp caster sugar

– 1/2 tsp salt

– 1 cup warm milk

– 2 tbs melted butter

Now let’s compare this to an average cake.

CAKE:

– 250g soft butter

– 1 cup caster sugar

– 2 tsp vanilla essence

– 2 eggs

– 2 1/2 cups self raising flour

– 2/3 cup of milk

And 1 of them is considered healthy while the other isn’t.

You be the judge.

You could also possibly argue the cake has more protein with the eggs.

And remember the ingredients for both above don’t include all the other preservatives and crap that you’ll find in commercially produced bread and cakes to extend the shelf life.

Yes, there are some differences but really?

Bread is still healthy?

Obviously, a cake has more sugar but the flour content is almost the same,

and let’s be honest, 

flour is crap especially if you want to lose that extra layer of tummy flab that won’t seem to shift.

Just wanted to give you a different perspective on why you won’t see bread as part of the 3 Day Detox that you get when you join Team DPM.

Does it mean that you can’t eat it?

Of course not.

But like anything, be smart with it.

An everyday approach probably isn’t going to be your best idea.

The action takers that follow this to the letter are the ones that get the results.

Kinda obvious.

But it’s true.

Not from making up their own diet plan.

* They track what they eat.

* They eat what is in the plan.

* And then they start to notice their tummy ‘magically’ shrinking.

* And their energy improve.

* And a few extra items in their wardrobe start fitting again.

Not rocket science really.

Just not blindly following what we’ve always been told is healthy for us.
