Back on deck for another year as of this morning which brings me to the question that some people may not want to answer:

What’s the damage?

Or more to the point – what’s your damage?

After a bit of a festive season break – and rightfully so mind you – did you put the feet up and relax?

Or maybe a bit of over indulging?

Maybe a bit of exercise?

Or maybe a bit of everything?
No judgement either way.

Personally, I’m sitting about 2kg above where I was 2 weeks ago.
No surprise really.

For a couple of reasons.

The first one being that I put on weight easy.

The second reason is cause I had a few drinks every night and enjoyed a bit more of the treat foods then I normally would.

So I wasn’t expecting nothing extra.

Compared to other years it’s about par for the course.

Years ago I used to do about 5kg or so when I took the full 2 weeks off exercise.

This time around I got in a couple of quick workouts (2 I think) plus walked a fair bit.

So I’m happy with the 2kg cause it could always be worse.

The good thing is it won’t be around for long.

I’m certain of that.

Yes I may be older than any other time that I’ve knocked off those Christmas kilos, but really when all I have to do is stop having a couple of drinks every night and ease back on the chocolate and other treats during the week then really it isn’t rocket science.

Which brings me to you again?

Do you need to draw the line in the sand yet and focus on the simple steps to get back to where you want to be?

Last year is done.

Write whatever happened off now.

And start focusing now on what you can do – starting today.

For me it’s no alcohol and chocolate tonight.

What about you?

The motivation doesn’t get much easier than just focusing on some small basic goals to cross off first.
