It’s nothing earth shattering but it’s a given that we’re all prone to have those days when getting out of bed probably wasn’t our best idea.
You know those days where you really just can’t be arsed?
Yep I get them just as much as you.
It ain’t fun.
You may have even had that exact thought this morning when the call to action to get up started screaming at you…
And if you are suffering from any type of depression issue that makes it a thousand times more harder.
And that’s not something that we really talk about.
Well here’s something that may be able to help.
I came across a link that showed 16 foods that have been proven scientifically to improve your mood and make you happier.
I won’t reveal them all but if you’re interested you can see the link at the bottom of the page.
But here’s some interesting ones and why:
* Berries – cause they have something like what is used to make up prescription mood stabilising drugs
* Salmon – cause the good fats help fight the good fight against that black dog
* Apples – and other fruit and veggies can promote a calming effect
* Spinach – cause it helps fight fatigue and not just improve your mood
* Coffee (YES!) – linked to lower levels of depression
Just make sure you find a good barista cause when you drink long blacks there’s nothing worse than a crap coffee when you need that caffeine hit.

But honestly, the big thing that the article missed was that exercise has been proven time and time again to be the best antidepressant.
You come in, work out, get the heart rate up and even have a laugh and your endorphins give you that feel good ‘high’.
It’s worth it.
And it’s why I continue to exercise even though sometimes it’s the last thing you really want to be doing.
It’s also why Team DPM has been around for the last 12 years (well 12 years in October).
Cause people enjoy the company as much as the workout that they get out of it.
