I bet you’ve laid in bed wide awake in the middle of the night and wondered what is the healthiest nut?

Okay, maybe not.

But maybe you may have wondered at some stage if one nut was better than another or if they were all created equal.

All nuts, obviously unsalted is the best, are healthy.

And of course it’s always better to get a variety of nuts considering that each one has it’s own nutrient speciality, but there can be a hierarchy of sorts.

And according to a dietician in an article I read, here’s her pick in order:

1. Almonds

2. Pistachios 

3. Walnuts

4. Cashews

5. Hazlenuts

6. Macadamia 

7. Pecans

8. Pine Nuts

Personally, I’m surprised that Brazil nuts didn’t make her cut. I always thought they were supposed to be nutrient packed.

Anyways, taking out their benefits – how would you rank the nuts?

My top 5 would be Macadamia, Cashews, Hazlenuts, Pistachios then Almonds.
