The old saying goes ‘desperate times call for desperate measures’ and I can assure you right now that is true.
As you read this, we’re currently on day 8 of our isolation and I’m not exactly living the dream.
Sure there’s been some good moments, but there’s plenty of other times that it hasn’t been fun.
It is what it is.
But I realised one thing last Wednesday on day 1, that there is something I can do that I haven’t done in years.
And I’m glad I got back into it.
You see I’ve had an old spin bike outside that I hadn’t used for years.
Used to use it back in the day, but the last 4-5 years especially I got out of the habit of using it as I got more into my walking routine and was really enjoying that.
But obviously I can’t walk outside right now.
And I thought why not give the bike a go again.
Luckily it still does the job after years of being brushed.
It’s been good to still get a cardio outlet in apart from the home workouts I’ve been doing all along.
And it gets the heart rate up and breaks up the day.
So there’s a positive to take out of this in that I “rediscovered” the bike.
The lesson for you hopefully out of this is to maybe have a look at what you used to do that you really enjoyed.
Hopefully there might be something that you thought of?
And hopefully that might be exercise related and give you another outlet to get moving from.
Is it worth you trying and giving it a go again?
Obviously for some things, you may not be able to do them if the body doesn’t cooperate like it used to, but there may be something that was long lost that might be worth giving a go again?
Let me know if there is something you end up going back to.
And if it’s something exercise related, I’d love to help you out there too.
Just let me know how I can help.
Hopefully there’s only 2 days left of this rubbish and I can get out and enjoy some of the things you’ve been able to do this week and get back to helping the DPMers get the outlet in each day.
How has it been getting out by the way?
I bet you’re making the most of it!
I know I will be.
But today is hopefully our last test.
Assuming we get the green light, the light will be at the end of the tunnel very soon.
