What does the future of food and healthy eating look like to you?
Do you think there’ll be more of a focus on plant based meals and other protein alternatives?
Well according to data released by Credit Suisse, they predict the plant based meals industry will be 100 times larger by 2050 than it is now.
Now obviously an almost 30 year timeframe is a pretty broad prediction, and no one I’d imagine in 29 years is going to go back and fact check this, but it’s an interesting projection to make.
They’re obviously not just throwing you know what at a dart board, there’s obviously some basis behind these numbers based on current increases and so forth.
I thought it makes an interesting discussion for today.
Have you changed your meat intake, either up or down, in recent years?
I know we have.
Mainly cause of advice from my cardiologist I had to see last year after some not great readings.
But it can’t be a bad thing.
So long as the alternatives we are eating aren’t too far removed from the way a food should be – as in not modified so much to cause negative health problems down the track.
And you can’t argue there’s always way more people who’ve gone plant based then there was even just a few years ago.
It’s definitely more mainstream and accepted now than just the hippies smoking weird stuff in the middle of nowhere.
Anyways, it’ll be interesting to see all the things that will come out in the future to help try and convince people to make the switch for whatever reason you choose as your motivation.
Enjoy your long weekend.
