Something a bit light hearted today to hopefully help you through a wet week.
This idea came from a press release that I saw on LinkedIn the other day on how the Anytime Fitness gym chain had acquired the rights to the Bar Method.
If you’re not familiar with what that is, it’s a concept that’s been around for a few years but gaining in popularity in recent years.
It’s based on the old ballet bars and a workout concept was designed around those bars and incorporates other movements to give an alternative to those who don’t want to do the traditional workout.
I don’t have an opinion on it either way, but if it gets people moving then it can’t be a bad thing I guess.
Anyways, seeing this release gave me an idea that maybe we should incorporate the DPM Bar as part of what we offer.
And by bar I don’t mean the ballet bars, I mean an actual bar.
Maybe instead of having workout gear in the back of my car I can go back to my bartending roots that funded my overseas working holidays back in the day and start offering a fine selection of top shelf product after a session!
Although I don’t know how popular a nice whisky would be at 7am.
Anyways, like I said nothing too serious today, just one of those random things that goes through my head that made me laugh.
I guess all the head knocks are starting to take their effect…
Back to something more on point tomorrow.
Although the point of this email today is to remind you that fitness doesn’t always have to be boring.
We can have a joke and try not to take ourselves too seriously, after all your DPM time is supposed to be a break from reality.
You’ve got the rest of the day to get your head on serious.
Sure we work out hard.
But it doesn’t hurt if we have a laugh or two at the same time – even if it’s often at my expense.
PS – Did you see my idea yesterday of expanding the original corporate fitness lunch time program to open it up to anyone who wants to join a group of likeminded people in a 30 minute express lunch time workout?
Let me know if you’d like to put your name to the list and we can see what we get going interest wise.
