Officially back on deck for another year, and a new decade today.

Hope you enjoyed some down time but now it’s time to get back to business.

I’ve sat down to work out what I want to achieve over the first couple of months for the year and I encourage you to do the same.

It doesn’t have to be all about your training focus, but I’d suggest you placing some importance on it.

So where to start?

Follow this step by step plan

1) What do you actually want? Be specific – don’t just say lose weight or inches or get stronger.

Say I want to be able to fit into size XYZ that is currently too tight for me to do up or I want to be able to do a full push up on my toes without my hips dropping.

And write it down in your notes section of your phone or in an old school diary. Whatever works

2) What is your diary like now?

What can you realistically commit to training? Time and days a week.
Not in a perfect world.

But as things stand now.

Cause you’re only going to get busier. Don’t fall into the trap of saying “I’ll be fine once so and so is out of the way. Cause something else will take its spot”.

3) Have a deadline.

Be it 1 month, 2 months, 3 months.

Mine is 3 months.

Then whatever your timeframe make notes in your diary or calendar for the 1/3 and 2/3 marks.

3 months is easy cause you can review after month 1 and month 2.

That way you know whether you are on track or really need to pull your finger out.

4) Actually do what you said you would do.

For the exact days a week turn up to training or if you absolutely can’t make it – do something else at home. My book can help you there.

Yes, it’s more expensive now, but you had plenty of warning the price was going up last year.

5) Get help. If you need more accountability, let’s lock in some extra sessions.

I have some availability in my diary as it stands now for some extra one on one personal training sessions – times slot of either 7:15-7:45am on Wednesday and Fridays or Tuesday and Thursdays 11:15-11:45am

Let me know if you want those slots and we can have a chat about what might work for you.

And of course we have our small group training locations at Observatory Hill and Lilyfield.

Just remember to do something and to follow through with what you said you would do.

I’m here if you need help.

Let’s have a big year.

Cheers,
Daniel
