DPMers would know that I don’t like to overcrowd things at our outdoor exercise sessions.
There’s a couple of reasons for that:
1 – we’re not a bootcamp that has dozens of people jammed in
2 – too many people takes away from the personal part of personal training.
Legally, I can have up to 20 in a group as per Fitness Australia guidelines, but I like to cap it around the 12-13 mark.
Yes, technically we’re in a group, but I still like to think of it as personal training where YOU will get something out of the workout, and some interaction, rather than like a gym class where the instructor doesn’t even bother to learn your name.
Yes it might mean I lose out on a couple of bucks if too many people want to join the same session, but I’d argue on the other hand it might stop someone who wouldn’t normally continue because they feel like they’re just another number.
So for us it works.
I’d rather not overcrowd things.
As a result, the Friday Lilyfield group is pretty much at the point where it’s going to be waiting list only.
Now that everyone is back from their Christmas break, it makes sense to put a pause on new numbers for now for that day.
If you’re interested, or know someone who is in the Lilyfield group, the available days right now are Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
There’s still room in the Observatory Hill Tuesday and Thursday group, and also the Saturday morning session.
The fact that half of the people are doing this via zoom makes it even more open.
So if that’s something you’d like to try, or you are trying to get a friend along, please take note of that.
And if you do know someone who might be a good fit -they’re more than welcome to have 2 weeks on the house to test drive things to see if we’re a good fit for each other.
