Just wanted to give you an interesting update on what I posted yesterday about falling asleep in 2 minutes. Did you read that?
If you missed it, you can find it here.
Anyways, I actually tried it for myself on Tuesday night. I woke up for the first time that night less than 90 mins before my alarm was due to go off.
Now in the past, when this happens I usually lie awake there for ages. The mind starts thinking of all these random things and I can’t get back.
But I tried those steps as listed yesterday and despite my mind thinking of all random things I actually got back to sleep.
I was able to stop those random thoughts and focus on relaxing the body.
Now as I wasn’t clock watching I can’t say whether it was within 2 minutes or not.
However, I’m not going to nitpick if it was over 2 minutes considering it was my first time trying this and I actually got back to sleep.
I definitely wasn’t lying awake for long and that’s the main thing.
So if you do suffer from insomnia or find your mind going to all sorts of weird places in the middle of the night when you wake up, give it a go.
I can’t guarantee that this is going to work every time but I remember waking up to my alarm in the middle of a dream so I must’ve got back to a deep sleep.
Let me know if you give this a try and if it works for you.
