I should’ve mentioned this earlier, but did you know that this week is Men’s Health Week?
And I figured that today I’ll share with you some simple stats that we all need to be aware of.
Did you know that 6 out of 8 suicides in Australia every day are blokes?
Another one for you – accidents, cancer and heart disease make up the majority of deaths in males too.
Finally, when it comes to depression, 1 in 8 men will experience it at some stage of their life.
Now to state the bleeding obvious, women obviously have a lot of issues that they struggle with too, but this week is men’s health week so I’m putting the spot light on the blokes this time around.
Also because blokes are pretty stubborn and when something comes up, they normally just say “she’ll be right” and ignore it.
Or if it is a case of depression they often don’t talk about it because they’re embarrassed.
Hopefully a week like this can open up a conversation for those who need it.
So if you, or a man in your life, needs a kick up the backside to get back on track and do something about where things stand for you (or them) right now, consider this it.
Don’t be another one of those statistics.
It’s never too late until you’re 6 feet under.
And if you need help, or know someone who does, you know what to do.
Hit reply and let me know.
Even if you just need someone to talk to or whatever, I’m here.
And if you need some training to help put you in a better place physically and mentally, then of course I can help you there too.
