Sometimes you have to pay the price to learn the lesson.
And sometimes it’s a bloody big price.
Let me share you my story.
On Thursday I finally got my car back after it was in the shop for 4 weeks.
Long story short, the engine blew on it.
Understandable if the car was 10 years old and had 300,000km or whatever but lets say it wasn’t even close to that.
Whatever the reason though the hit was over $6500k.
Including having to rent a car for that 4 weeks.
Needless to say it was an expensive lesson.
What was the lesson?
Service your car more often.
Rather than just doing it every 12 months I gotta do every 6 months now.
And it reminded me of what we do with our bodies.
We don’t give it a regular service, be that a regular training routine, eating in line with the DPM food plan and even getting stuff like massages and the like.
To keep on top of things.
Normally, we leave it until it’s too late.
I know I used to neglect massages.
Until I got sick of my back constantly going.
Now every 3-4 weeks I’ve got a recurring booking for one.
For some people it’s letting life get in the way,
stopping them from doing any exercise cause “they’re too busy”,
stopping them from making as little as 10-15 mins to prepare a decent meal each night.
And eventually, there’s a breaking point just like my car.
– It might be not being able to fit into any clothes in your wardrobe any longer.
– It might be not being able to keep up with the kids anymore
– It might even be hitting a bottle of wine each night as stress relief – just to unwind from the kids going nuts and a shit day at work.
Whatever it is, there is always a breaking point.
Where it becomes too much to bear.
So how to address that?
Simply look after yourself.
Just like I gotta service my car more often now cause it’s getting older,
I hate to be the one to break it to you but none of us are getting any younger are we?!
Maybe it’s time to look at something like what we do at DPM as insurance.
So you’re keeping on top of things before it all goes down south.
If that’s not you, maybe you know of someone who it resonates with?
And if so, I’d love to help them get back on track.
Here’s what’s currently happening on the DPM timetable right now incase they’re asking:
* Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Friday at Leichhardt Oval Number 3 in Lilyfield 5:40-6:40am
* Tues/Thurs at Observatory Hill 7:15-7:45am
* Wed morning at Observatory Hill 7-7:30am
* Wednesday Lunch Break 1:15-1:45pm at Dawes Point under the Harbour Bridge
* Saturday at Observatory Hill 8-9am
Just hit reply and let me know their name and an email if you know anyone who wants to take advantage of this.
Or just get them to email me if you’re forwarding this onto them.
I appreciate you passing this onto anyone who it may benefit, cause after all, it’ll benefit you both when you get a sweet little $200 dinner gift voucher once they’ve been part of DPM for only 6 short months!
