After a long six months, we finally got the gloves back out this week for boxing.
And it was worth the wait.
Sure, shadow boxing is cool, and very effective, but nothing replaces the feeling of actually hitting something.
For the workout part of the equation, and also for the stress release side of hitting something.
Doesn’t mean that someone has anger issues or whatever, it is just therapeutic.
It went down well, and as I mentioned last week when I raised the idea of bringing it back, it is not going to be compulsory.
So if you still prefer to shadow box, and those on zoom will be doing that anyways, unless they have a boxing bag to hit, then you can do that without any judgement.
To reassure you, you wear your inner gloves that I give you (and of course wash after each use as you’d expect), but I also sanitise the gloves and focus pads at the end as you’d expect too these days.
We were slow to resume but it’s better to be safe than sorry as I didn’t want to be ‘that business’ all over the news as being a super spreader.
Great way to ruin 15 years in operation…
Anyways, we’re back to action and if you want to implement some boxing into your routine, I’m also happy to do it for personal training sessions.
Let me know if you want to explore that option.
Just to clarify, the Observatory Hill boxing day is Tuesday, and the occasional Saturday, and the Lilyfield days alternate between Tuesday and Wednesday on most weeks.
