Here’s something practical for you today that I hope you can use straight away.

And it’s another ‘secret’ from the DPM playbook that’ll solve an inconvenient problem that you may face from time to time

smelly exercise clothes.

No one wants to deal with that odour.

You know you can sometimes spend a bit of coin on your workout gear.

Whether that be the active wear from Lulu-Lemon or just some decent pair of skins or whatever, it is not cheap.

Even the old DPM t-shirt that you might like to workout in can be a sweat soaker.

And if you find this to be a problem, then I’ve got your back today.

I’m going to share with you an old wives tale that is actually true.

Back in the day, my mum used to soak all my footy gear (shoulder pads, headgear and shorts etc) in the sink with bi-carb soda.

This definitely works.

And I still use it to this day – especially with spew and food soaked bibs from a 6 month old.

There’s plenty of them each day.

It also works for our boxing inner gloves – and I’ve even been known to soak our resistance tubes in the stuff from time to time when they get on the nose after getting wet and end up with that ordinary wet dog smell.

Is this something you use for your gear?

It’s worth a shot especially with the weather warming up over the next month.

There’s two ways I do it:

1) Soak first overnight 

2) Add bicarb to your normal washing load as well

End result is it works.

And if it can get the spew smell out of a babies soaked bib then it’ll definitely work for keeping your exercise clothes fresher for longer. 

How much should you use?

I free pour so go for your life.

The stuff is cheap anyways.
