Got curious yesterday cause I found an old article that listed the biggest fitness trends from 2 years ago.
And it got me wondering what the biggest trends for 2017 according to the cool kids.
The funny thing is not much has changed.
Well number one did- mainly cause it wasn’t really a thing 2 years ago.
That was wearable technology.
You know fitbits, iwatches and the like.
They are pretty popular and can help make someone more active
Not for me but I’m not going to hate on em.
The other things that were on the list were pretty much a copy and paste from 2 years ago.
Stuff like we do at DPM
– Bodyweight training
– HIIT training = the training that gets your heart rate up and gets the most done in the least amount of time
(the exact reason why we can get so much achieved in 30 minute sessions!)
– group and personal training
You might also be pleased to know that number 4 on the list this year was Educated, Certified and Experienced Fitness Professionals.
And back in 2015 it was actually number 3.
That to me is a big one.
See, pretty much anyone with a wallet full of coin can go and do a PT certification in as little as a few weeks.
Yep, that’s actually disturbing.
You’ve probably heard all the ads on the radio from ‘celebrity trainers’.
Luckily, there isn’t as many now as there used to be after one of the big ones went broke the other month.
The sad thing with this is that all that does is create a whole bunch of people without any real knowledge of the human body or experience in what works and let them loose on the world to do their damage.
No wonder physios rub their hands with glee at this.
But when you put your faith in someone with a Health Science or Sports Science degree,
but more importantly, someone who’s been around for the last 17 years (and running DPM for coming up on 12 years in October) you know you’re in the right hands.
I don’t tell you this to big note myself.
I couldn’t really care what the majority do.
Or even what other trainers think of me.
But I want you to know that you’re in safe hands.
And on the right track.
So now you know why you do what you do – and have been doing for years!
Cause it works just as well now as it did a couple of years ago.
Don’t forget, I’m looking to add another 2 morning sessions into our schedule to help you out and get your sessions done before work.

VENUE: Observatory Hill
Hoping to start these next Wednesday.
Something that would work for you?
Or maybe someone you know would appreciate knowing about these?
