So how you doing today?
Considering we should have had a nice Easter break to see the family, get out and just unwind, we got to stay home and do exactly what we’ve been doing for the last few weeks.
I kinda feel ripped off by Easter this year.
It’s normally a great time to unwind and relax.
Not so much this year.
But it is what it is.
So I can understand you may feel a bit down today as a result.
So what I wanted to do today was flip the script.
Let’s put a different focus on things.
So rather than focusing on what we can’t do, let’s focus on some positives.
Now we’re at home more, does that mean a positive for you that you’re able to spend more time meal planning and getting the weekly meals all sorted out in advance, rather than just throwing together whatever at the last minute or calling out for takeaway?
Maybe it means you now have more time to devote to exercise?
Maybe it means that you’ve been able to get out and walk around the block, either by yourself to escape or with the kids to give them some outdoor time?
You may have even taken the time to reassess where you’re heading if you weren’t heading where you wanted?
I don’t know.
I just know that we can’t control how long this is going to last for, and while
I can’t wait to get back to the way things were before, I kind of think that this is a chance for us to reassess everything.
What’s working, what’s not.
What’s important and what’s not.
And make it a chance to finally do what you may have wanted to do but didn’t have the time.
Personally for me, I know a positive out of this situation is that it’s opened up my eyes to the zoom workouts concept.
So for DPMers who might be travelling in future on a day when they would normally have a session, they can join us from their hotel room
Same goes for former DPMers who now live interstate or moved away – they can zoom in and still stay connected.
The other positive is that I finally pulled the trigger on my side project – the Small Business Dads podcast. Check it out the intro here which explains what it’s going to all be about if you haven’t yet. And now there’s five episodes already uploaded too that are well worth a listen.
So thought I’d try and put a positive spin on the way things are right now.
Have a good week and see you on zoom workout.
