Billy Joel was right my friend.
To quote from the old classic that you probably heard your parents listening to on 2WS when you were a kid:
Is such a lonely word
Everyone is so untrue
Is hardly ever heard
And mostly what I need from you
Appropriate for today.
And definitely appropriate considering what I shared last week in my “I’m not in love” email.
You know, the one where I confessed that I don’t exactly love exercise these days.
Controversial some may say.
Considering what I do and all.
But let’s not beat around the bush.
That’s the truth.
Doesn’t mean I hate the idea of if.
And I always feel better after it’s crossed off.
Just don’t love it.
Now, if someone think me admitting something like that makes us a bad fit, that’s cool.
We’d never click anyways.
So I’m cool with it either way.
I know exercise has to be done cause I know what the alternative is.
I know that I still enjoy working with the people I train.
In fact we have some pretty good laughs during the time and that is why I still keep doing it almost 12 years into DPM.
I know that I know what I’m doing and can get them some pretty cool results when they’re prepared to follow the game plan.
But if someone expects me to be like the typical trainer, and lets be honest here,
I’ve been in the fitness industry for 17 years and plenty of personal trainers are a bunch of wankers to be honest.
I wouldn’t be caught dead with most of em.
They’re too self absorbed about posting another shirts off ‘look at me’ selfies on instagram or facebook or texting someone during a session for them to notice anything else anyways.
The industry is about as fake as you can get.
Projecting a perfect image on the outside when behind the doors their lives are a wreck.
They’re really miserable.
Desperate for attention.
With plenty of skeletons in the closet.
But each to their own.
If someone would rather train with the hot 20 something trainer good luck to them.
I prefer to be upfront with you.
Cause one thing I do know, is that it’s better to be authentic
– through your good days, and especially your bad,
then to be caught out as a fake.
Just as you have plenty of ups and downs too.
It shows we’re human and not afraid to admit it!
Not some fake social media picture someones trying to project.
So there you go.
This is me, I’m honest.
The ones that didn’t like that unsubscribed anyways the other day.
So thanks for reading, and thanks for being a part of DPM.
I appreciate you.
PS – If you know someone who wants to benefit from someone who calls it as it is and isn’t a fake, I appreciate you spreading the word about my VIP promotion.
They can have 2 weeks on the house to check out any group they like and I’ll hook you up with some DPM training gear as a thank you.
