If you’ve been following along over the last couple of months,

you’ll no doubt know that I’m releasing my first real book.

It’s something I’ve wanted to do for years, but for one reason or another – i.e. one excuse after another, I just never made it happen.

In fact, even as a kid I wanted to be an author (and a Parra player).

Then earlier this year I was listening to a couple of podcasts where they mentioned about writing a book,

and also had a random chat about writing a book with a DPMer,

which all together finally got me off my butt to actually follow through and do something about it.

The end result is I took it more seriously.

Now I might not have made it to play for Parra (some would say that’s probably a good thing) but at least I can make this old book dream of mine come true.

So I blocked out time for it on most days during the week – even if it was only a quick 15-20 minutes just to get a little bit crossed off.

But as I always say, something is better than nothing.

And it all adds up.

End story is, whether it’s writing a book or committing to a regular exercise routine,

you have to book it in and just start = not just talk about doing it.

So here’s where we’re at with it.

* The book is written and was sent off to my editor at the end of last week to take to it with the red pen.

* What’s it called? Short ‘N Sweet: The 20 Minute Home Workout Solution For Busy Parents (based on almost unanimous feedback when I posed a few options on the facebook page)

* The front cover is done (see the PS)

* The promo shots for the back cover are done (I didn’t want my head on the front cover seeing as I’m not exactly George Clooney)

* I’ve picked who I’m going to publish it through and the turn around is quicker then I expected.

The end result is once I get the edit back and make the necessary changes and have the final back cover design all sorted, it’ll go to print.

Then I can update you with an exact launch date although I’m hoping it’s the end of September or start of October to coincide with some pretty nice weather that will be amongst us by then!

And if you’re wondering what it is all about?

Well, it’s targeted at the DPMers who can’t make as many sessions as they’d like each week or those former DPMers who can no longer make our sessions due to school drop offs etc in the mornings.

Or those who just aren’t located conveniently to get to one of our sessions or my 1-on-1 in home personal training options.

Basically, it gives you a six month workout plan to follow.

You follow each workout for a month exactly as described (complete with beginner or advanced options).

You’ll also get access to the video demos on a special page of my website

and other options that will give you the opportunity to follow along with me as I do the workout with you in real time.

But you know what the best thing about it is in my humble opinion?

It is all timer based!

One of the biggest complaints I realised after talking to people who would use this book, and reading other amazon reviews about similar books, is they all took too long.

And not the 20 minutes or whatever it said it would have.

That was a lightbulb moment for me.

Cause obviously everyone works at a different pace. Some people fly through. Others take their time, especially if they’re beginners.

So making it timer based actually solves this problem!

Because if you are a beginner and need more rest time, you sit out an exercise or only do half the allocated time.

But if you need the challenge, you power through with minimal rest time.

Trust me this will get your heart rate up regardless of what stage you’re at!
