Big day today.

Game 6 NBA Finals.

Now maybe you don’t care much for basketball and would rather watch paint dry, but I’ll give you the cliff notes version which has a lesson in there at the end, so hang in there with me.

Red hot favourite team all year, Golden State, is trailing 3-1 in a best of 7 series.

Their best player has been out injured for the last month with a supposed calf (allegedly more serious) injury, only to return last game and tear his achilles when it’s debatable whether he was fit to play in the first place.

The underdog team, Toronto, blew the chance to wrap up their first ever championship at home in game 5 when they had every opportunity to do so.

Golden State hold on for the big road win to keep the series alive and to bring it back to 3-2 leading into todays game.

Still with me?

Good.

Basically it means a couple of things that may be relevant to you.

You can’t do it all by yourself.

You need your team with you to help you get over the line.

Your team might be support from your partner.

Support from me.

Your kids.

Whoever.

Believing that you can achieve what you set out to do so.

You need this network around you.

No one at the start of the season predicted Toronto would even be in this position to possibly win the whole thing.

Sure they had a leader and a superstar showing them how it’s done.

But the support cast has been crucial to each of their previous 3 wins this series.

They do their job and allow the main guy to do his and do what superstars do.

And the lesson from the Warriors side? Well, there’s a couple.

The first one being you just can’t turn up and expect to win like they pretty much have excepted all year.

You still have to do the work.

For you and me that means we still have to get to training, do our workouts, keep on track with the other side of the equation too – sleep and food etc – otherwise things start to fall apart.

The other lesson is it’s not over till it’s over.

You may fall behind.

You may have a slip up or two where things don’t go your way.

But while the clock is still ticking, you’re still a chance.

All you need is to keep doing what got you there in the first place and back yourself in.

That’s how the Warriors won the other day and kept things alive.

Hopefully you’ve taken a bit more out of the NBA finals than you thought possible today.

One more thing – Go Toronto! I want to see the little guy win.

Cheers,
Daniel

PS – Don’t forget to invite a friend along to a 2 week test drive on the house to help keep them on track during winter, and to also be eligible for your free $200 dinner in 6 months.

Promise we don’t always talk about basketball…

They can register here once you’ve got them interested
