So we got another bronze.
According to The George Institute for Global Health at least. They ranked Australia third in the world when it comes to packaged foods.
The UK and America beat us. Just.
At first glance you might find America at least interesting considering their tendency for fast food, but you also have to remember there’s also a big health culture in certain parts of the States (like California) and they always come out with 100’s of different types of the same thing.
Which leads me to think there’s all different types of things that we haven’t even heard of yet at places like Trader Joe’s and the like.
I found this info interesting on the back of what I shared with you on Monday (my favourite quick and healthy snack ideas). If you missed it, you can find my current go-to’s here.
It’s good to see that there are a lot more healthier packaged options available these days compared to even just a few years ago.
All you have to do is walk down the health food aisle of your local shopping centre and you’ll get plenty of options to chose from when you’re looking for convenience.
And when you compare that to a few years ago there wasn’t even health food aisles.
You had to go into a health food shop and pay massive overs for anything that resembled something healthy.
The tide is turning and I’m sure that as this decade progresses it’s going to get even better.
Putting on my crystal ball magic powers for a minutes, I see a real gap starting to widen this decade.
There’ll be a lot more healthier people coming through with healthy eating becoming more and more convenient.
The training options have already changed for people, like shorter workouts, something I wouldn’t have dreamed about 20 years ago now becoming a reality.
Now the food side of things is catching up thankfully.
Both of those combined will hopefully ease the obesity epidemic that blew out of control at the earlier part of this century.
I’m interested to see how it all pans out.
