Had a big long weekend?

Too much food?

Too much drink?

Need to reboot the system?

Then you might need to read this.

And to be blunt,

Just draw a line in the sand and step over the bloody thing.

It’s time to be accountable.

Not only to yourself.

But to someone else.

Whether that be me or your partner or a friend at work.

And that’s the thing,

you have to put it out there to your circle that you are in on this game plan.

Not to big note yourself.

But for the social support.

So they don’t grill you on why you aren’t having the burger and chips at lunch,

or having the 4th or 5th glass of wine like usual.

And as part of my end of the bargain I’m adding in an extra workout day each week.

A hit out on the boxing bag each Friday arvo.

It’s a good way to finish the week.

And if I lose an extra kg or two out of it even better.

But here’s the deal with what this is about:

It’s about taking things one step at a time.

There will be slip ups.

For you and for me.

I know that.

But the reality is that we have to be taking action.

Or starting taking action.

It’s about doing something different.

It’s about being committed to the end result.

Of feeling better and looking better.

Of enjoying what stares back at us in the mirror each morning.

The main thing with these slip ups is that we dust ourselves off.

See it for what it was and work out how we can deal with that situation when it arises again.

And if for you, your thing is eating better again and drinking less after a big long weekend,

the thing is with the recipes that are included as part of the DPM Quick Healthy Meals Cookbook that all DPMers get access to,

you even feel like you are treating yourself with some of them.

So it isn’t just the boring same old same old.

We don’t just eat rabbit food.

We plan in our cheat meals

and that even means alcohol too.

Yep, you don’t have to lock yourself away and live like a nun.

We eat real food that tastes great.

We enjoy a drink or three when planned in.

We make things happen.

One day at a time.

What about you?
